MailAgent runs continuously in Gmail. It checks for new messages and thread updates.

What triggers the agent

MailAgent only processes email that matches your scope settings.

• Included labels

• Excluded labels

• Optional rules you add in your prompt (priority, escalation, etc.)

What context the agent uses

• The full thread (subject + prior messages)

• Your prompt and policies

• Label state on the thread

• Tool results from MCP (if enabled)

Use labels as the hard boundary. Use the prompt for softer rules.
